Import -&gt; Subtitle\u2026Select the .srt file<\/strong> you created earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"694\" height=\"637\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.phil.hhu.de\/ctsdus\/files\/2024\/02\/step8.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1231\" style=\"width:510px;height:auto\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Step 9<\/u><\/strong><br>Once you have <strong>imported the .srt file<\/strong>, you can find it as part of your project\u2019s current <strong>Media Pool<\/strong> (in this screenshot it\u2019s the file on the left)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"206\" height=\"161\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.phil.hhu.de\/ctsdus\/files\/2024\/02\/step9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1232\" style=\"width:271px;height:auto\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Step 10<\/u><\/strong><br>Now do a <strong>right-click on the .srt-file<\/strong> in your Media Pool.<br>Click <strong>\u201cInsert Selected Subtitles to Timeline Using Timecode\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"538\" height=\"318\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.phil.hhu.de\/ctsdus\/files\/2024\/02\/step10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1233\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If done correctly, the subtitles should now <strong>automatically appear<\/strong> on the Subtitle Track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The timestamps should already be aligned with their associated time and place of the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1265\" height=\"328\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.phil.hhu.de\/ctsdus\/files\/2024\/02\/step11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1234\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Seconds vs Frames<\/u><\/strong><br>You might have noticed that the timestamps from the .srt file and the timestamps from Davinci Resolve look different. <br><br>However, this is due to the fact that <strong>.srt files measure time in actual seconds<\/strong> and milliseconds, whereas Davinci Resolve <strong>measures time in frames<\/strong>.<br><br>For example: The first sentence has a timestamp from 00:00:00,000 &#8211;&gt; 00:00:01,270. <br>The Davinci Resolve subtitle block for this sentence ends at 00:00:01:08.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"475\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.phil.hhu.de\/ctsdus\/files\/2024\/02\/step12-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1236\" style=\"width:520px;height:auto\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b><u><span lang=\"EN-US\">Calculation <\/span><\/u><\/b><br><span lang=\"EN-US\">But how do we know for sure that 00:00:01,270 and 00:00:01:08 are basically the same?<\/span><br><span lang=\"EN-US\">If we subtract the one second of 00:00:01,270 and 00:00:01:08, we get<\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">00:00:00,270 <\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-US\">and<b> 00:00:00:08<\/b> respectively. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">This means that <b>270 milliseconds<\/b> should be <b>equal<\/b> to <b>8 frames.<\/b>&nbsp;We can do a quick calculation to check if this is correct.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One second is <strong>1000<\/strong> milliseconds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The video has <strong>29.97<\/strong> frames per second (Davinci Resolve uses 29.97 fps instead of 30 fps)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We want to find out how many milliseconds a single frame has <strong>and find out how many milliseconds 8 frames have.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We need to <strong>devide 1000 by 29.97<\/strong> and then <strong>multiply the result by 8.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>(1000\/29.97) * 8<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1000\/29.97 = 33,3667000333667<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>33,3667000333667 * 8 = 266,9336002669336<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>266,9336002669336 <strong>\u2248 270 [milliseconds]<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Other tips for your project<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Did you know\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2026that you can <strong>adjust<\/strong> your code in Visual Studio Code to perfectly fit into your <strong>view area<\/strong>? <strong>Click View -&gt;
